My husband and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary in April and plan to take a trip, just the two of us. The only question is: where to go? I vote for Paris. My husband wants to go to Washington D.C. I am not making this up. In his defense, he travels constantly for work, so he's less excited about a long plane trip than I am. (Heck, sitting on a plane going anywhere without my children sounds like heaven!)
Anybody have any good recommendations for us?

I say you go to DC for a day and fly out of there to Paris. The best of both. 10 years already. I thought you just got married yesterday :)
Hey Karen - It does seem like just yesterday, doesn't it?
I don't think we'll do Paris OR D.C. (D.C. screams "family" vacation. I'm looking for romance! Or at least warmth!)
How about Virginia...it's for lovers!!
Ahem. Thanks, for now...
Where in Virginia? Is it warm there?
Ohh..Ohh...Ohh ...How about the Poconos? In Pennsylvania. I remember seeing commercials as a kid about places in the Poconos. Looks very romantic. And how can you go wrong in the mountains? It doesn't get too much more beautiful than that!

I would personally choose the Poconos.
This isn't a llama hike but could be fun (and possibly painful!)

A dude ranch. Perfect! May as well go to D.C.
How about the Hyatt in Lisle?
I suggest St John's, Newfoundland, the big island on the east coast of Canada, where they have 2 seasons.... winter and August. I recommend August. It's absolutely beautiful there,,, cliffs, rocks, the ocean, boats, hills, history, wildlife, good restaurants, seafood.... try it, you'll like it!
Here's another bid for Paris... take a look:

Thanks for all of the recommendations, both via comments and emails. We're thinking Sedona, AZ might be just the place!
Hi Paul and Robyn, your vacation is probably old news by now but if you want something without super long travel that is clean and fun with great beaches, State park and National park, try Holland, Michigan. A little bit of Amsterdam without the vice and expense.
Hey Joe!
I've got my heart set on Sedona and a beautiful resort and spa there. But you're right -- MI is beautiful. I grew up near Holland, Michigan. (I even marched in the Tulip Time parade!) We're planning a family vacation there next summer. :-)

How about Charleston, NC. That's were Dh and I went for our 10th. The weather was perfect. We did a walking tour of the historical district. There are so many interesting restaurants to choose from too.
