last night

For a brief moment, I allow myself to feel smug. After all, my husband is away and I still prepared a nice, healthy dinner for myself and the kids. As I clear the dishes away, the noisy boys begin a massive lego building project in the family room. Teamwork. Cooperation.

I’ve got this motherhood thing down.

That’s what I was thinking when I realize I have no idea where baby b. actually is. He was playing in the kitchen just a minute ago, and now…wait…what’s that noise? No. It’s not.

The gate is open. I run to the bathroom and there he is. And he’s quite pleased with himself. He squeals with delight when he sees me, lifting his arms out of the toilet and splashing water all over himself and the floor. That would be, um, toilet water.

Oh my.

I just hope your boys flush the toilet more fastidiously than my daughter...

Nice! Nothing like a little toilet water play to liven up your day! Maybe someone is giving away a toilet lock on the bloggy giveaways ;-)

Jen -- Thankfully, this time they had flushed!

Frazzmom -- The only problem with a toilet lock is that I've got two boys who wait until it's coming out of their eyeballs until they go!! But another lesson in "shut the baby gate behind you" is definitely in order...

oh, this was exactly the giggle I needed this afternoon! I recall a very wise momma of 3 telling me once, "never let yourself get smug." It's a sure-fire way to have something happen. :)

Very nice. That's right up there with my daughter taking a cup into the bathtub with her and drinking the dirty bathwater...

Mamatoo -- Yes. Smug is not good. I usually don't have much opportunity for smugness, honestly. With three, there's always something...

SP -- Nice! Bathwater...toilet water...our kids would play well together! :-)

It happens to all of us...
My two boys were caught by a neighbour peeing out their bedroom window... so you still qualify as a good mom! Me? I'm not so sure.
Boys are a wonderful source of entertainment.
