what's the point of collecting highly valuable rocks without keeping them safe? Oh, and don't ask about where they got them...you don't really want to know, do you?
By the way, wondering what you would say has been the follow up on your experience in Iowa -- was it two summers ago? Has it shaped your writing in a long-term way?
The biggest thing, I think, was my consultation with the instructor on the last day when she said, "Robyn, seriously. Stop taking classes and just write."
The class was on writing autobiographical fiction, which I've done. My YA novel is in the final stages of rewrite. Planning to go to Write-to-Publish in Wheaton to pitch it in a few weeks.
My name is Robyn Whitlock, and I'm a work-at-home mom to three boys. I enjoy writing, reading, and cooking, not necessarily in that order. I hate doing laundry, which is unfortunate since I do a lot of it!!
Oh, and I recently bought a llama with a few girlfriends. He lives in Ecuador with a family who finds him useful in their day-to-day lives. I'm still his momma, though.

Can't have the rocks going stale! :)
Great comment Peter.
Llama Momma, your site lights my heart with every visit. Thanks.
LOL! Gotta keep the rocks safe and fresh.
As I look at this picture, I'm reminded that I have no idea where the 3YO actually found that big rock in our yard. Very curious indeed.
Too funny! I used to find my son's felt balls in my pots. And I still don't know where my pyrex 2-cup measure is...nor the top to the blender. Kids.

Love those sweet, creative boys!
