where a kid can be a kid

I hate Chuck E. Cheese.

There, I said it. That happy place where a kid can be a kid feels like a special kind of torture to me. Vomity pizza and ALL OF THE LOUDNESS pushes me over the edge every time.

If you’re nodding in agreement, then what I’m about to say could very well change your life. (Or at least the frequency of your visits to Kid Nirvana, which will change your kids’ lives and make you a very popular mom. At least for a day.)

Go to Chuck E. Cheese in the morning. They open early, and it’s practically empty. Bring those coupons and buy hundreds of tokens for fifteen bucks. Split them up among your kids, even save some for another visit, and let your kids loose.

As my toddler now says: awesome!

Stay for a few hours and then leave. Last time we went across the street to Panera and had soup for lunch, but you could also just head home. Last time we did this Twin A. confided that he didn’t really care for the pizza much either.

So there you go. Chuck E. Cheese in the morning totally works for me! Now head over to Rocks in my Dryer for more great tips!

great advice - we went last week on a Fri afternoon when we got rained out of a zoo trip - we ate a late lunch at Ryan's on the way and got there around 1 or 1:30 - it was practically dead! I think it was us and maybe 5 or 6 other families. Very low key which is very nice! :)

I am in absolute agreement with you! For my son's 7th birthday this year, we had dinner at home, printed the online coupon, went while it wasn't very busy at all, and basically just sat around while the kids had fun. It's a fairly tolerable place as long as you go with a specific purpose in mind. :)

Chuck E Cheese's always leaves me feeling like the Grinch, "oh, all that noise, noise, noise, NOISE!"

So thanks for the tip. Because if the kids want to go there for their birthdays, it's hard to turn them down.

I've been to CEC twice, and consider it to be the 7th circle of Hell.

Never been in the morning, though...

I am so lucky, not a CEC nearby.

You're kids are lucky to have such a great mom! I just never took my kids there at all. EVER.

I've never taken my girls to Chuck E. Cheese, but Julia is dying to go. I'll keep this tip in mind!

I agree with MilehiMama.

Chuck E. Cheese = Satan.
